8. h3 Bh5 9. e4 { Here the game-score in Clarke's scoresheet ends. The
report in the 15th July edition of the Cork Examiner for Round 3 indicates
that this game was adjourned - so this cannot be the only moves played and
indeed Clarke's scoresheet also has in the "form for adjournment" section
the diagram filled out with what presumably is the adjourned position: FEN
"5k2/5P2/5b2/2P2p1p/2K3p1/1P6/6R1/8 ? - - 0 1". [RR White to play would
win immediately via 1. Rd2 Kxf7 2. c6 Be5 3. c7. With Black to play, the
position is difficult to hold for White, and may be lost. A sample line is
1... Kxf7 2. Kd5 h4 3. c6 Bd8 4. Ke5 h3 5. Rd2 Bc7+ 6. Kxf5 g3 7. Rd7+ Ke8
8. Rxc7, when Black is winning after either 8... Kd8 or 8... h2 (Lomonosov
tablesbases).] } 1/2-1/2
