Milner-Barry, Philip Stuart   –   Alexander, C. H. O'D.

C27 British Championship 1948 (2) 1948.08.31

Wade's comment is "Alexander completely refuted Milner-Barry's opening and [in this position] had an easy win. However, he missed this opportunity though eventually winning two pawns. After that Milner-Barry put great heart into the fight, held on to the major pieces, making it too dangerous to use the extra material. In the last two sessions of this four-session battle Alexander does not appear to have had a win." (John Saunders, BritBase.)
